"The Greatwall" Sino-US film set to wrap

Xinhua, July 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

"The Greatwall", a Sino-US co-production, will finish shooting in August, said director Zhang Yimou on Thursday.

The fantasy film, featuring Chinese and Hollywood stars such as Matt Damon, Willem Dafoe, and Andy Lau, centers on mankind's resistance against demon monsters.

To fight evil, an international elite force turn the Greatwall into a weapon to ward off monsters trying to devour humankind, said the director.

All scenes were shot in China, said Zhang Yimou, adding that he had been driven by a desire to promote Chinese culture through the iconic Greatwall, with the help of Hollywood.

The film is slated for worldwide release on Nov. 23, 2016. Endit
