Xinhua, June 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

A senior al-Qaeda leader named Abdul Azaam Al Subhi had been killed in a U.S. drone attack in Afghanistan, a local television channel Tolo reported Sunday.

The killed al-Qaeda leader, according to the television channel, was a national of Saudi Arabia and had been a wanted man in his native country.

Al Subhi was killed four days ago, the television channel added.

The Al-Qaeda network which had strongly supported Taliban hierarchy was dispersed with the collapse of the Taliban regime under the U.S.-led military campaign in late 2001 and its leader Osama Bin Laden was killed during a U.S. special operation in Pakistan on May 2, 2011. Endi
