Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Friday evening hosted a dinner for more than 4,000 Cambodian Muslims during the Ramadan Iftar (breaking-of-the-fast) Dinner.

Speaking before the dinner, the prime minister said it was the second consecutive year that he had dinner with Cambodian Muslims.

"This truly shows the attention of the Cambodian government to the Muslim people in Cambodia," he said.

He expressed appreciation to the Cambodian Muslims for properly practicing Islamic belief and not committing any extreme act in Cambodia.

Othsman Hassan, a spiritual leader of the Cambodia's Muslim community, said the Muslims have been treated equally in the Cambodian society.

"Under the leadership of the current government, we have lived peacefully and harmoniously," he said.

It is estimated that there are around 600,000 Muslims living in Cambodia, which has a total population of more than 15 million people. Endi
