Regional trade fair opens in Xinjiang

Xinhua, June 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

A regional trade fair for central and south Asian countries opened in Kashgar, an ancient Silk Road town in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on Friday.

Besides domestic participants, the three-day fair attracted business people from countries such as Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. It has 930 exhibition stalls showing agricultural, textile and machinery products.

A forum on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be held during the 11th Central & South Asia Commodity Fair of Kashgar, said Chen Zhijiang, a senior Kashgar government official. Domestic and foreign academics will discuss Kashgar's role in the corridor in finance, logistics, energy and culture.

The forum will provide intellectual support for Kashgar's development in the wider strategy of the Silk Road Economic Belt, said the official. Endi
