British FTSE 100 drops 0.54 pct on Thursday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday decreased by 0.54 percent, or 36.98 points, to 6,807.82 points.

Top-level negotiations between Greece's prime minister and international lenders ended earlier without a deal, which depressed the market.

Sage Group's share price increased by 3.88 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips.

Barratt Developments, ARM Holdings, Mondi and Royal Bank of Scotland Group advanced by 2.83 percent, 2.04 percent, 1.69 percent and 1.68 percent respectively.

United Utilities Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.68 percent, followed by BHP Billiton (2.73 percent), Weir Group (1.83 percent), TUI AG Reg Shs (DI) (1.81 percent) and Rio Tinto (1.71 percent). Endit
