3 Saudi soldiers die in attacks by Houthis from Yemen

Xinhua, June 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Three Saudi soldiers were killed in two separate attacks on Wednesday from neighboring Yemen's Houthi rebels, Al Arabiya news reported Thursday.

Two soldiers were killed in Jizan region and the other died in Asir region, Al Arabiya said, quoting a statement by the Joint Forces Command.

The latest casualties came after the death on Monday of an officer from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Najran.

The UAE is a member of a Saudi-led coalition against Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Many Saudi soldiers and civilians in places bordering Yemen have been killed in Houthi attacks since the beginning of airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen on March 26 in an effort to restore the authority of exiled President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi, currently seeking refuge in Saudi Arabia.
