French stock market index down 0.24 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with a slight decrease of 0.24 percent at 5,045.35 points on Wednesday, down 12.33 points.

With the complication of the Greek debt deal issue and the weak performance of the stocks of French telecommunication companies, the CAC 40 closed slightly lower on Wednesday with 26 of the 40 selected experiencing decrease.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Pernod Ricard, up 1.36 percent, Total, up 1.01 percent, and Technip, up 0.77 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Wednesday were Bouygues, which plummetted 9.26 percent, Orange, down 3.31 percent, and Lafarge, down 1.71 percent.

Veolia Environnement stayed the same as the previous trading day.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 1.18 percent at 5,057.68 points, up 59.07 points. Enditem
