Chinese, Indonesian leaders vow to strengthen cooperation

Xinhua, June 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo vowed Tuesday to strengthen cooperation in production capacity, electric power and other fields during a phone conversation.

The two countries are good friends and partners who treat each other sincerely, Xi said, noting that China's 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative dovetails perfectly with Indonesia's vision of "world maritime axis."

The two sides have agreed to establish priority projects in the economic and trade cooperation as soon as possible to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, Xi said.

China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia in such fields as production capacity, electric power, steel, shipbuilding, building materials, photovoltaic, and finance, the Chinese president said.

China is confident of Indonesia's development potential and prospect, Xi said, expressing readiness to increase investment in Indonesia.

Widodo, for his part, said Indonesia attaches great importance to the relationship with China and hopes to enhance cooperation in various fields.

He said he was happy to see that the government departments concerned of the two countries are making joint efforts to implement the consensus reached by the two leaders. Endi
