Paris officially launches bid for 2024 Olympic Games

Paris on Tuesday officially announced its bid to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"Paris 2024 promises a feasible and flexible Games concept," said Denis Masseglia, head of the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF).

Paris, which failed in bids for the Olympics in 2008 and 2012, joined the US city of Boston, Rome and Germany's Hamburg as candidates for the Games in 2024.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will announce the candidate cities that made it to the shortlist in 2016, before select the host city in summer 2017. Endi
