Non-performing loans in Albania at lowest level since 2012

Xinhua, June 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

The level of non-performing loans dropped to 22.4 percent in April 2015, the lowest since 2012, Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported on Monday.

According to data from Albanian Association of Banks, the non-performing loans went below the level of 22.8 percent which was recorded at the end of March.

Gradual reduction of non-performing loans is mainly attributed to prudent lending by second-level banks over last years and an upward trend in lending.

The administrative actions for execution of the collateral and lost loan write-off as well as the Bank of Albania measures to facilitate loan restructuring have played a crucial role too.

Reduction of non-performing loans is having a positive impact on banks' financial results, according to Albanian Association of Banks. Enditem
