Portuguese criminal police seize 3,600 grams of cocaine

Portuguese criminal police on Monday detained four men and one woman at Lisbon airport and in Porto, north Portugal, for drug trafficking.

The detainees, aged between 19 and 54, were suspected of drug trafficking between South America and Portugal, the criminal police said in a statement.

Around 3,600 grams of cocaine, which one of the suspects carried hidden close to his body, were seized, police said, adding that they were dealing with what they believe are an "organized group."

The five detainees are to attend a first judicial hearing where enforcement measures will be applied. Endit
