Chinese publishing house opens LatAm center to promote cultural exchange

Xinhua, June 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Latin American center of China International Publishing Group (CIPG) established on Friday in Mexico aims to promote cultural exchange between China and Mexico beyond diplomacy and the economic sector, CIPG's President Zhou Mingwei said on Friday.

It will also promote cultural exchange between China and the rest of Latin America due to the importance that Mexico has in the region, said the president.

The new regional center marks a new phase for the group's development in Latin America. It will coordinate all its business including books, magazines, websites, and translation works in this region, to better serve cultural exchange between China and this continent, Zhou said.

Before this regional center, the group opened a branch in Mexico in 2004, an office in Peru in 2009 and began publishing its magazine "China Today" in Brazil earlier this week, said Zhou. Endi
