Tokyo stocks close 0.81 pct higher on bargain hunting, yen's weakness

Tokyo stocks rose 0.81 percent on Friday morning bolstered by bargain hunting and the yen's depreciation against the U.S. dollar.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 161.73 points from Thursday to end the morning at 20,152.55. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 13. 81 points, or 0.85 percent, to 1,630.47.

Gainers were led by textiles and apparel, shipping and financing business issues. Endi
