French stock market drops 1.02 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 1.02 percent at 4,790.62 points on Wednesday, down 49.24 points.

The CAC 40 closed lower on Wednesday with 35 of the 40 selected experiencing decrease.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Total, up 1.10 percent, Vivendi, up 0.59 percent, and EDF, up 0.56 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Wednesday were Valeo, down 5.40 percent, Peugeot, down 2.72 percent, and Carrefour, down 2.64 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.51 percent at 4,839.86 points, up 24.5 points. Endit
