The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) held a seminar in Shanghai on Wednesday with the theme of "Innovation in Social Development and Governance".

Liu Qibao, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and Dinh The Huynh, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPV Central Committee, secretary of the CPV Central Committee's Secretariat and chairman of the Central Theory Council, attended the seminar.

Liu, also head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that China is implementing the strategic layout of the "Four Comprehensives" -- comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society, deepening reform, advancing the rule of law and strictly governing the Party. He said efforts must be made to ensure society develops in an energetic and orderly way.

He highlighted the significance of attention to people's livelihood, justice, improvement of governance modes, innovation in social mechanisms, morality and leadership by the Party.

Dinh The Huynh, who also serves as the head of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for Education and Popularization, introduced Vietnam's practices in governance.

Earlier on Wednesday, Liu held talks with Dinh The Huynh, exchanging views on strengthening ties between the two parties and countries, and boosting media cooperation. Endi
