French stock market index up 0.51 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with a slight advance of 0.51 percent, or 4,839.86 points on Tuesday, up 24.5 points.

Supported by the injection of funds after decreases lasting several days, the CAC 40 closed slightly higher on Tuesday with 34 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Tuesday were Alcatel-Lucent, up 2.76 percent, Valeo, up 2.38 percent, and AXA, up 1.97 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Tuesday were Kering, down 1.61 percent, Technip, down 0.88 percent, and ArcelorMittal, down 0.84.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 1.75 percent at 4,815.36 points, down 85.83 points. Endit
