1st LD: Roadside bomb kills 2 civilians, wounds 16 in S. Afghanistan

Two civilians were killed and 16 others injured as a roadside bomb struck two vehicles in the southern Uruzgan province on Tuesday, spokesman for provincial government Dost Mohammad Nayab said.

"A mine planted by militants struck two vehicles at the same time on a road in Jambarak Kotal of Deh Rawad district at around 1: 00 p.m. local time (0630 GMT), killing two civilians on the spot and injuring 16 others," Nayab told Xinhua.

Women and children were also among the victims, the spokesman said.

He also blamed Taliban militants for orchestrating the bloody attack. However, the armed outfit which is largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings are yet to claim responsibility. Endi
