Polish gov't press officer appointed as candidate for parliament speaker

On Monday Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz officially appointed Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska, a press officer of the Polish government since 2014, as candidate for Polish Parliament Speaker.

Kidawa-Blonska will replace Radoslaw Sikorski who asked for dismissal after his testimonies in an investigation concerning the eavesdropping of top-level Polish politicians in 2013 and 2014 came to light last week.

The appointment of the new Parliament Speaker is scheduled for June 23-25. Endit
