Vietnam's capital launches multi-lingual hotlines for consultation to combat MERS

Xinhua, June 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Vietnam's capital Hanoi's department of health has just launched multi-lingual hotlines to provide consultation on combating the Middle East respiratory syndrome ( MERS), reported local Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper on Monday.

Accordingly, the number (+84) 969082115 will provide information on how to fight against MERS in Vietnamese and English languages while the number (+84) 949396115 will be available for Korean language.

People, including foreigners working and living in Hanoi can refer the hotlines for information and support relating MERS such as how to prevent the disease, what to do if detecting suspected cases among others.

In a related move, Vietnamese Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien has sent a document to people's committees of provinces and cities nationwide, urging to increase awareness of MERS on foreigners who have recently entered Vietnam.

Especially, South Korean citizens, who are working in industrial parks and economic processing zones or those have lately returned from the disease-hit areas, are asked to make health declarations, and self-monitor their health for 14 days.

If detected with symptoms such as coughing, fever, acute respiratory infection, patients must inform local health facilities or call the hotlines. Endi
