Three national guard agents were killed overnight Sunday by armed militants in two separate incidents in midwest Tunisia, local media reported Monday.

Two national guard agents were killed in an exchange of fire with "terrorist" militants at the Bir Lahfey checkpoint, and the other was shot dead on his way to work in Sidi Bouzid, local radio Mosaique FM said.

One militant was killed and another was severely injured in the clashes at Bir Lahfey, the radio said.

Ten people, including civilians, were injured in the exchange of fire, which was confirmed by a spokesperson of the interior ministry. Endit
