Xinhua, June 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

A 22 year-old Palestinian man was killed on Sunday morning in the West Bank after being run over by an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) vehicle which flipped over.

The IDF Spokesperson Unit said in a statement that an Israeli military force arrived at the Palestinian village called Kafr Malik near Ramallah in order to summon several local Palestinians for interrogation.

The military stated that unrest was sparked amid the forces' arrival in the village, claiming that the local residents threw Molotov cocktails and stones at the forces.

The Israeli soldiers charged that when they drove in a vehicle and attempted to bypass the stone throwers, their jeep flipped over, hitting the Palestinian, later identified as Abdullah Iyad Ghanem.

The Israeli army announced it had opened an investigation into the incident to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

On Wednesday, a Palestinian died in clashes with Israeli security forces in a refugee camp in the northern West Bank territories. Endit
