Palestinian killed in clash with Israeli soldiers in West Bank: Witnesses

Xinhua, June 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

A 22-year-old Palestinian man was killed early Sunday in a clash with Israeli soldiers in a village east of the West Bank city of Ramallah, witnesses said.

The clashes broke out when Israeli soldiers stormed the village of Kofor Malek in armored vehicles, and dozens of Palestinian young men threw stones at them.

Eyewitnesses in the village said that Abdullah Ghanayem, 22, died after an Israeli army vehicle rolled over him. They also said that Ghanayem had been imprisoned in an Israeli jail and was released only months ago.

Other sources said that while the Israeli army force was withdrawing from the village at the end of the clash, one of the army vehicles fell on Ghanayem and killed him.

Last week, an Israeli soldier shot dead a Palestinian young man in a village near the northern West Bank town of Jenin.

There has been no comment on the incident from the Israeli army. Endi
