Tokyo shares ended Friday slightly higher as investors ' optimism over the Japanese and U.S. economic outlooks took the upper hand over concerns on Greek bailout negotiations which weighed on eurozone stability.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched up 24.11 points, or 0. 12 percent, from Thursday at 20,407.08.

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.87 percent to finish at 5, 166.35 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.17 percent to close at 18, 098.27 points.
Total turnover on the two bourses grew slightly to 1.97 trillion yuan (around 322 billion U.S. dollars) from 1.8 trillion yuan the previous day.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 372.69 points, or 1.39 percent to 27,280.54 points on Friday.

SYDNEY -- Australia's Resource and financial sectors reversed Thursday's positive momentum, pulling the Australian market back to close slightly lower in Friday's session.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in southern Vietnam, closed at 582.73 points on Friday, up 1.68 points, or 0.29 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
