Large drug trafficking ring busted in central China

Xinhua, June 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Police in central China's Henan Province have caught 41 suspected drug traffickers and seized 130 kg of drugs, they reported Friday.

A gun, two grenades and more than 12 million yuan (about 1.93 million U.S. dollars) were also confiscated, said a spokesman with the public security bureau of Pingdingshan City.

About 101 kg of heroin as well as large quantities of other drugs made it the largest bust in Henan in the past six decades, the spokesman said.

Since 2013, members of the ring transported heroin brought to southwest China's Yunnan Province from Myanmar to Pingdingshan and Xiangcheng County in Henan, investigations found. It was then sold to clients in other provinces.

The suspects were apprehended between January and March this year in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces.

The police are further investigating the case. Endi
