PNG PM to lead business delegation to Europe

Xinhua, June 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Papua New Guinea (PNG) Prime Minister Peter O'Neill will lead a trade and business delegation to Europe to expand investment and trade opportunities, News Corp reported Friday.

O'Neill will meet with British Prime Minister David Cameron and the royal family of the United Kingdom on Saturday ahead of the United Kingdom (UK)-PNG trade and investment forum on Tuesday.

O'Neill said investment in PNG is expanding beyond the traditional Liquefied Natural Gas production and mining opportunities.

"Around 250 business people and investors from Europe and North America will attend the UK-PNG trade and investment forum, with many hearing about the potential of Papua New Guinea for the first time," O'Neill said.

The delegation will also travel to Paris for further meetings with political and business leaders.

"We need to ensure that we progress these opportunities... and expand trade through our fisheries, oil palm, agricultural and tourism industries," O'Neill said. Endi
