BMW Motorrad reported company's best May sales

BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle brand of German car producer BMW Group, reported here on Thursday it had achieved its best May sales figures.

A total of 15,004 motorcycles and maxi scooters were supplied to customers worldwide, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.5 percent.

Meanwhile, in the first five months of the year, BMW Motorrad supplied a total of 62,928 vehicles to customers, up by 6.4 percent compared to the last same period.

"With solid growth of 6.5 percent in May and 6.4 percent over the first five months of the year, we have significantly surpassed the results of the previous year," said Heiner Faust, head of sales and marketing of BMW Motorrad.

According to him, BMW Motorrad saw especially strong growth in China, and sales increased by nearly 100 percent compared to the previous year, reaching more than 1,100 units.

"We believe the future prospects for the Chinese market are very promising," he noted. Endit
