Ribery describes ankle injury as 'catastrophe'

Xinhua, June 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery was depressed about his ankle injury although he took himself off on holiday nowadays.

Ribery has not played for his club since March 11, on which day Bayern smashed Shakhtar Donetsk 7-0 in the Champions League's last 16.

In his absence, Bayern won the German Bundesliga title but was eliminated form the Champions League semi-finals. Even team doctor Muller Wohlfahrt was forced to resign.

"The injury is getting on my nerves, it's a catastrophe," Ribery said, "I think about my football the time. I just want to run! I want to play! I have to be able to train in order to be happy."

"I couldn't do what I wanted to do, like jet ski or drive a boat. It was crap," he added.

Ribery says the injury is "significantly better" and hopes to be able to run again soon. He was eager to take part in Bayern's pre-season training, which will start in July. Endi
