Kazakhstan's football federation has invited Uganda's national team, Cranes to play an international friendly game on June 17.
Decolas Kiiza, the Head of Finance at Uganda's FA told Xinhua on Wednesday that the invitation has come in at the right time when they are preparing the national team for the 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
"We are waiting on a few aspects, but I think we shall send the team for the match because it will help the technical team prepare well," added Kiiza.
Kiiza explained that the Kazakhstan FA is willing to meet the travel costs and accommodation for the contingent. He said the team will then fly straight to Tanzania for June 20 game in the 2016 CHAN qualifier.
Uganda's head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic said the game away to Kazakhstan will be important as they prepare the team for the CHAN qualifiers.
"We need this kind of competitive match practice and Kazakhstan gives us a good test," he added.
The CHAN tournament is meant for players featuring in the local leagues in their respective countries in Africa. If Uganda eliminates Tanzania, they will then face Sudan in the last hurdle of the qualifiers to determine if they book a ticket to the event to be taken place in Rwanda between January and February next year.
Uganda qualified for the 2011 CHAN event in Khartoum, Sudan and the 2014 event in South Africa. The team failed to qualify for the knock out stage on the two occasions. Endi
