Chinese Corner launched at Chinese Cultural Mansion in Cambodia

The Confucius Institute of the Royal Academy of Cambodia on Wednesday inaugurated a Chinese Corner at the Chinese Cultural Mansion in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh.
The event was presided over by Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Bu Jianguo. "Choosing to learn Chinese is a right decision for your future because China has played greater role in international arena in politics, economy, culture and so on," Sackona said. "Moreover, Cambodia-China relations and cooperation are excellent, so a lot of Chinese business people and tourists come to Cambodia,"she added.
Ambassador Bu said learning Chinese would enable Cambodian people to get better understanding of Chinese language and culture.
"I believe that with the support from the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the cooperation between the Confucius Institute and the Chinese Cultural Mansion will be successful," she said.
Chea Monirith, director of the Confucius Institute of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said the Chinese Corner at the Chinese Cultural Mansion was the 20th Chinese centre that the institute has opened in Cambodia since its inception in December 2009.
He said the institute's purpose is to provide free and standardized Chinese language education to Cambodian civil servants, students and common people. Endi
