Xinhua, June 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Vietnam has approved a master plan on developing hi-tech parks by 2020 and a direction by 2030, which will see the development of three new high-tech parks in the country.

The master plan aims to build hi-tech parks across the country, contributing to promoting hi-tech and socio-economic development in localities and regions, improving the growth model and economy' s competitiveness, increasing hi-tech applications in products and speeding up national industrialization and modernization, according to the website of Vietnamese government on Tuesday.

Accordingly, until 2030, several new hi-tech parks under the management of centrally-governed cities and provinces will be built with local budget and other financial sources in order to attract further investment in hi-tech sector and stimulate scientific and technological development nationwide.

Investment will be enhanced to complete synchronized and modern infrastructure in the current three national hi-tech parks in capital Hanoi, central Da Nang city (some 600 km south of capital Hanoi) and southern economic hub Ho Chi Minh city (some 1,130 km south of capital Hanoi).

The planned three new hi-tech parks include two bio-tech parks in Hanoi and southern Dong Nai province (some 1,120 km south of capital Hanoi) and a tech park in southern Binh Duong province ( some 1,120 km south of capital Hanoi).

The master plan also came up with measures to develop hi-tech parks, including improving policies on the parks, enhancing management of centrally-governed cities and provinces over the parks, diversifying financial sources, prioritizing state budget to complete the national hi-tech parks'infrastructure, developing human resources, boosting linkages among the parks to strengthen their competitiveness.
