Nigeria rally from behind to hold Sweden 3-3 in women's World Cup

African champions Nigeria came back from two goals behind to tie 3-3 with Sweden in their Women's World Cup Group D clash on Monday.

An own goal from Desire Oparanozie put Sweden 1-0 ahead after 21 minutes, before Nilla Fischer extended their lead to 2-0.

In the second half, the Super Falcons refused to succumb and hit two goals in quick succession to level the scores.

Linda Sembrant came off the bench to put Sweden back in the lead before Ordega's shot sailed between goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl's legs.

After the match, Sweden coach Pia Sundhage rued blowing the lead, while his Nigeria counterpart seemed more satisfactory.

"We are not happy that we gave up three goals, however, at the end of the day we got one point and there's good things to bring to the next time," said Sundhage.

"I feel OK after our first match. They expect to win, and at the end of the day, we got a draw," said Nigeria coach Edwin Okon. Endi
