British FTSE 100 drops 0.21 pct on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday decreased by 0.21 percent, or 14.56 points, to 6,790.04 points.

Diageo's share price increased by 6.79 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Royal Mail, TUI AG Reg Shs, Severn Trent and Wolseley increased by 1.48 percent, 1.20 percent, 1.13 percent and 1.05 percent respectively.

Shire Plc led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.75 percent, followed by GKN (2.48 percent), St James's Place (1.94 percent), International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (1.79 percent) and BHP Billiton (1.43 percent). Endit
