China seeks wisdom on Belt and Road Initiative

Xinhua, June 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese senior leader Yu Zhengsheng discussed ways to implement the country's Belt and Road Initiative with political advisors at a consultation meeting on Monday.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said the initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping in 2013 needs nationwide elites' sound advice.

Some advisors proposed the Belt and Road Initiative should make better use of private capital, while some suggested better services to social enterprises including policy and financial support.

During the consultation, Yu also asked for opinions on China's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) which he described as a vital period for turning the country into a moderately prosperous society.

Yu, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stressed that political advisors should do more theoretical and field studies to better serve the country's political and economical development. Endi
