Human trafficking cases reached 56 in Myanmar in the first five months of this year , nearly doubled as compared with the same period of last year, official report said Monday.

WELLINGTON -- Three men and a boy have been rescued after being lost at sea in two separate rescue operations Monday, said New Zealand search and rescue authorities.
The crew of a New Zealand air force P3 Orion found a man and his 6-year-old nephew, who had been missing overnight in a 5-meter aluminum boat, 70 km northwest of Manihiki Atoll in the northern Cook Islands, said the Rescue Coordination Center New Zealand ( RCCNZ).(New Zealand-Rescue)

SEOUL -- South Korea on Monday identified 23 new contagions with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), increasing the total number to 87 while deaths from the viral disease rose to six as one more death was reported.
Twenty-three infections found Monday alone were the largest daily increase since the first case was identified on May 20, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare. TOKYO -- Japan posted a current account surplus for the 10th straight month in April, the finance ministry said in a preliminary report Monday, hitting a five year high as prices for crude oil continued to reduce import costs and the yen's decline augmented overseas profits.
