China wins four golds on last day of Asian Athletics Championships

Hosts China became the big winner as they claimed four gold medals on the last day of the Asian Athletics Championships here on Sunday.

China won the gold medal of women's 4x400m relay as Yang Huizhen lead the Chinese team to finish in 3 minutes and 33.44 seconds. India was second in 3:33.81 while Kazakhstan third in 3:35.14. China's men's relay ranked the last second with a time of 3 minutes and 7.36 seconds.

"I feel a little nervous in this competition, we made some mistakes in the process, but we still have a good job under this rainy condition," said Yang Huizhen, who started to sprint in the last stage of relay.

The women's triple jump was dominated by China's legion. Wang Wupin, who jumped 13.76 meters in his fourth attempt took first in this competition while another two Chinese players Li Yanmei and

Wang Rong ranked second and third.

"It's my goal to claim the champion, the rainy weather had big influence on me, I have not reached my expectation," Wang Wupin said.

China also won the women's shot put and javelin throw as Guo Tianqian threw 18.59 meters and Liu Shiying threw 61.33 meters and broke the competition record.

Qatar's sprinter Femi Ogunode pocketed the gold medal in men's 200m in 20.32 seconds and led the men's 4x400m relay team to take the first place with a new competition record 3 minutes and 2.5 seconds. Mussab Abdelrahman Bala also gifted Qatar another gold in men's 800m with 1 minute and 49.4 seconds.

Japan's high jumper Eto Takashi crowned in the men's high jump with 2.24 meters while Mutaz Aissa Barsham form Qatar only got a bronze.

"It's not my best, I don't like the competition in this rainy weather, but it's normal, I will focus on the next now," said Barsham, the Asian record holder.

Japan also claimed another gold medal as Nakamura Akihiko won the men's decathlon with 7773 points. China's Guo Qi and Hu Yufei ranked second and third with 7289 and 7042 points respectively.

In the women's 800m, the title was claimed by Tintu Luka from India with 2 minutes and 1.53 seconds, following by China's Zhao Jing.

Kazakhstan's Viktoriya Zyabkina won the title of women's 200m while the winner of women's 10000m went to Aliamohmmed Mohmmedsaeed from the United Arab Emirates.

The Asian Athletics Championships runs from June 3-7 with a total of some 900 athletes ompeting in 42 events, China ranks first with 15 gold medals on the medal table after 5-day competition. Endi
