Xinhua, June 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least six people were injured when a bomb hit a passenger train in Pakistan's south Jacobabad district on Saturday morning, local media reported.

Geo News said that some unknown militants fixed the bomb at the railway track and exploded them with a remote controlled device as soon as the train passed by it near the district jail area of Jacobabad located in the country's south Sindh province.

Three compartments of the train derailed and over 200 feet of the track was destroyed in the attack, causing disruption of railway traffic in the area.

Officials said that the train Jaffar Express was on its way to southwest city of Quetta from north Rawalpindi city of the country when it came under attack.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Police and paramilitary troops Rangers cordoned off the area and rescue work has also been launched.

Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, condemned the attack and directed the concerned officials to expedite rescue and repair work for resumption of the train service in the area. Endi
