Vietnamese futsal team prepares for regional tournament

Vietnam's national futsal team will leave for Japan on June 7 for a short training session, in preparation for the 2015 Asean Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship, local newspaper Vietnam News reported Saturday.
The Vietnamese team will have three friendly matches with the Japanese national team and a strong club of Japan. The team will include 20 players, who are training in Ho Chi Minh City's Thai Son Nam Sports Center.
Eleven teams will compete in the AFF event that will be held in Indonesia from October 8-18. The top three teams of the championship will qualify for the 2016 Asian Football Confederation Futsal Championship.
Vietnam is in Group B, along with Australia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines. Group A comprises Thailand, Indonesia, Timor-Leste and Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore.
At the 2014 AFF Futsal Championship in Malaysia, Thailand finished first, followed by Australia and Vietnam. Endi
