Spain's industrial production rises by 2.7 pct in April

Spain's industrial production rose by 2.7 percent in April when compared with the same month of a year earlier, according to the Index of Industrial Production (IPI) published on Friday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).

Production of consumer goods increased by 1.6 percent, with production of durable consumer goods rising by 4.6 percent and production of non-durable consumer goods increasing by 1.4 percent.

Production of capital goods and production of intermediate goods increased by 1.8 percent and 5.2 percent respectively, the INE said, while production of energy increased by 0.9 percent.

Meanwhile, the INE said on a month-to-month basis, industrial production rose by 0.1 percent.

Spain's industrial production has been rising for three consecutive months on a year-on-year basis, the INE reported. The first time industrial production rose by the end of the year since 2007, when the economic crisis started, was in 2014, when it grew by 2014. Endit
