Tokyo stocks fall 0.44 pct in morning on overseas losses

Tokyo stocks fell 0.44 percent in the morning session of Friday tracking overnight losses in U.S. stocks.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 89.24 points, from Thursday to end the morning at 20,398.95. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange shed 11.89 points, or 0.71 percent, to 1,662.00.

Decliners were led by insurance, financing and shipping issues. Endi
