The Palestinian National Council on Thursday urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility and help end the Israeli occupation.
The council added Palestinians are determined to end the Israeli occupation and create their own state with east Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement on the 48th anniversary of Israel's takeover of east Jerusalem in 1967, the Amman-based council said the Palestinian people are determined to keep their statehood right at the 1967 borders in line with international conventions and the UN charter.
The council condemned Israel for continued crimes and violations against Palestinians, slamming Israeli attempts to modify the distinctiveness of east Jerusalem.
According to an agreement between Jordan and the Palestinian Authority, the Arab kingdom oversees Holy Islamic and Christian sites in east Jerusalem.
Jordan has repeatedly called on Israel to end its unilateral measures in east Jerusalem and to halt the demolition of Palestinian houses in east Jerusalem in an attempt to change its nature. Endit
