India and the United States have inked a key 10- year defense framework agreement for jointly producing military equipment and technology, and they have also sealed two other projects, including one to develop protective gear for chemical and biological warfare.

The pact was inked in the capital Wednesday night by Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar and visiting U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, who also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.(India-US-Defense Framework Agreement)

SEOUL -- More than 800 schools in South Korea have decided to suspend classes as of Thursday for fears of student contagion from the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

Schools, which decided to temporarily stop classes, totaled 822 nationwide at 11 a.m. (0200 GMT), according to the Education Ministry. (S.Korea-MERS)

TOKYO -- Japan's lower house of parliament on Thursday approved a bill that would see the legal age for voters in national elections lowered from the current minimum age of 20 to 18.
