Estonia ready to support Georgia's European aspirations: president

Visiting Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves said Wednesday that his country is ready to play an important role in supporting Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration process during a meeting here with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili.

According to the PM's press service, the two leaders discussed Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, political and economic cooperation with Estonia and further development of bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Gharibashvili thanked the Estonian president for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the country's aspirations, and expressed hope for deepening bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation.

The two sides also talked about the importance of cooperation in the field of e-governance and bilateral visits were planned at the meeting.

In addition, the Georgian prime minister expressed appreciation for Estonia's involvement in EU-funded projects in Georgia aimed at strengthening vocational education, good governance, European integration, agriculture, environmental protection and role of civil society in the region. Endite
