Germany's benchmark DAX index closes up

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday closed up slightly by 22.23 points at 11,436.05 points.

The Greek debt crisis is still overshadowing the stock exchange. Greece will have to repay 300 million euros (327 million U.S. dollars) to the International Monetary Fund and it is not known yet how Greece will get the money, according to local analysts. The blue-chip index went up slightly by 0.19 percent.

Henkel AG & Co. KGaA Vz, a home care company rose by 1.28 percent. Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor company, advanced by 1.1 percent. Continental AG added 1.07 percent. Bayer AG climbed by 0.89 percent and Deutsche Boerse AG went up by 0.86 percent.

LANXESS AG, a specialty chemicals company, dropped by 1.4 percent. Commerzbank AG lost 0.66 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa AG plunged by 0.66 percent. Muenchener Rueck AG, a reinsurance company, lost 0.63 percent.

The turnover stood at 3.41 billion euros (around 3.72 billion U.S. dollars ). Allianz SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 142.6 million euros. (1 euro = 1.09 U.S. dollars) Endit
