EU citizens least satisfied with financial situation in 2013: Eurostat

People in the European Union (EU) were the least satisfied with their financial situation in 2013, according to Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU.

Eurostat published a selection of indicators on Monday that related to well-being and satisfaction of people in the EU. The indicators included personal relationships, accommodation, commuting time, living environment, green and recreational areas, job, time use, financial situation, and overall life satisfaction.

According to Eurostat data, the area of lowest satisfaction for people living in the EU was their financial situation, with an average score of 6.0 on a scale from 0 to 10.

For financial situation satisfaction, Nordic countries ranked top of the EU list in 2013: Denmark and Sweden both at 7.6, Finland at 7.5. Meanwhile, satisfaction in Bulgaria stood at 3.7, which is the lowest value in the EU.

Notably, the financial situation indicator had the widest gap between EU member states, with a 3.9-point difference between the highest and lowest average.

By contrast, people in the EU were most satisfied with their personal relationship, with an overall average score of 7.8. Endit
