Iceland sees services trade surplus increase in Q1

Iceland saw its balance of services trade increase to a surplus of 19.47 billion Icelandic krona (144.79 million U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of 2015, up from 15.63 Icelandic krona in the first quarter of 2014, Statistics Iceland said Monday.

According to preliminary figures, Iceland's export of services in 2014 was about 101.22 billion Icelandic krona and the import of services was 81.75 billion Icelandic krona.

With a trade surplus of 22.75 billion Icelandic krona, transport was the top earner of trade surplus in the country's service sector, according to Statistics Iceland. Endit
