Two Indian warships have reached Indonesia as part of their four-day deployment, sources said Monday.
"INS Ranvir, a guided missile destroyer, and INS Shakti, a fleet tanker and support ship, have reached Jakarta. During their visit, both the Indian Navy and the Indonesian Navy will conduct regular coordinated patrols," the sources said.
The visit by the Indian naval ships is aimed at bolstering the naval ties between the two countries, they said, adding that an annual naval exercise is also planned this year.
The ships came to Indonesia from Singapore and will visit Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia after the deployment, the sources said. Endi
