Thirty Turkish police officers were detained on Monday on suspicion of spying on politicians, civil servants and businessmen, private Dogan News Agency reported.
The detentions were part of an operation against those involved in a 2013 anti-graft probe that was later described as a "coup attempt."
The authorities accused Fethullah Gulen, a U.S.-based preacher, of masterminding a plot to topple the elected Turkish government through his supporters in Turkey's judiciary, police and other institutions in the 2013 probe, which led to the arrest of several high-profile government figures, including sons of three former ministers.
Hundreds of police officers, judges and prosecutors involved in the 2013 probe have since been purged, Dogan said.
The government described the 2013 anti-graft probe a "coup attempt" by a "parallel structure" within the state. Endit
