Albanian police destroy int'l drug traffic gang

Seven persons have been arrested in Albania as part of a criminal gang that trafficked narcotic substances to the neighboring country of Greece, Albanian Daily News reported on Sunday.

According to official sources of Albanian State Police, 23.4 kilograms of cannabis sativa were seized during the operation codenamed "The trip". The operation was conducted in the Albanian cities of Korca and Tirana.

Police investigations showed that the seven persons are involved in the traffic of narcotic substances towards Greece.

Besides the drugs, police also seized six mobile phones, 90 euros, 100,000 Leks (770 U.S. dollars) and two cars. Endit
