French couple Diane McEvoy and Fabrice Gueho couldn't believe their luck as they watched rock legend Sir Paul McCartney on stage in his home city of Liverpool.
What happened next though stunned and shocked 31-year-old Diane McEvoy from Versailles.
She and her boyfriend were called onto the stage by McCartney and in front of a sell-out crowd of nearly 10,000, cheered on by the pop legend, Gueho popped the question.
So passionate is McEvoy with Sir Paul and the Beatles she headed to work and live Liverpool and is now employed in the city's main attraction devoted to the famous group, the Beatles Story.
Throughout the performance Gueho held up a hand-made sign with the romantic message "all my loving I will give to her if you let me propose on stage tonight".
McCartney spotted the sign, he wrote the hit song All My Loving, and asked aides to bring the couple onto the stage at the city's main Echo Arena.
Still walking on air, McEvoy described Friday the most magical whirlwind 24 hours of her life following the Thursday night gig.
Gueho never expected for a second for his plea to be answered and as the couple walked onto the stage both were overwhelmed. He giggled uncontrollably as his girlfriend looked on in sheer amazement and disbelief.
Once he managed to get the words out and ask for Diane's hand in marriage, she of course said yes!
McEvoy said Friday: "I was so overwhelmed when a security guard came over and asked us to follow him to the side of the stage."
"I thought I might faint and was just shaking. Myself and Fabrice had always said it would be amazing if we could do something like this and I knew about the sign of course, but we never thought it would work and I had no idea he had the beautiful ring with him."
"I was just so happy to be on stage with Paul (McCartney) and to be being proposed to by Fabrice was just amazing. It took a while to register what was happening but I am so grateful to Paul for spotting the sign and inviting us up there. I will never forget the proposal, that's for sure! Amazing evening and I can't stop smiling today."
A perfect encore would have been another Beatles hit, She Loves You Yeah Yeah Yeah! Endit
