Xinhua, May 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry on Thursday lifted the country's grain exports forecast for the 2014- 2015 marketing year from 32 million tons to a new record high of 33 million tons.

"The grain exports may climb to 33 million tons in the current marketing year," Agriculture Minister Olexiy Pavlenko told reporters at a media briefing here.

The minister said the projection was upgraded as the crops exports were rising in recent months at a faster pace than expected.

In the current marketing season, which started on July 1, 2014, Ukraine has already shipped abroad 31.1 million tons of crops, including 10.4 million tons of wheat, Pavlenko said.

In the previous marketing year between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014, Ukraine's grain exports rose 42.1 percent year-on-year to 32. 4 million tons, marking a record high. Endite
